Seaview Pier on North Topsail Beach offers mellow, small surf when conditions permit, thanks to its exposure to cross-shore winds and gently rolling sandbars. Currently, the surf is 0–1 ft, with an east-northeast wind of 11 knots delivering cross-shore conditions. This spot performs best in fall—particularly October through November—when longer-period southeast and northeast swells from tropical systems and nor’easters arrive, and offshore or cross-offshore winds help polish the wave faces. The best surfing typically occurs around low to mid tide when the sandbars align to form peaky rights and lefts. Lineups are generally uncrowded, offering peaceful sessions. Surfers should remain alert for rip currents and rapidly shifting sandbars common in this beach-break setting.
