Mason’s Inlet in North Carolina is a reasonably exposed sandbar break that only works under specific conditions and shows no distinct seasonal pattern. It performs best with offshore winds from the west-northwest and picks up both wind and groundswells, with the ideal swell direction from the southeast. Even when surfable, it tends to be uncrowded, offering a quieter experience for those who catch it on good days. The best conditions occur when a southeast swell aligns with WNW offshore winds, with December often providing the most consistent clean waves during the winter months.
