It performs best when east swells meet offshore winds from the west, producing a mix of left and right-hand waves. The break handles both windswells and groundswells effectively and is surfable at all stages of the tide. While the spot can draw crowds during good conditions, it generally maintains a relaxed atmosphere. Surfers should remain alert to hazards such as rip currents, undertow, man-made obstacles like buoys, and occasional localism. The most reliable clean surf is typically found in the summer, with October being one of the best months for favorable conditions.
