📍 Local Knowledge

Nez Bayard in Normandy is a sheltered reef break that works infrequently, with the summer months in particular tending to remain flat. It performs best with a northwest swell and offshore winds from the south, receiving an equal mix of local windswells and distant groundswells. Even when conditions are working, the spot is unlikely to be crowded; however, surfers should remain vigilant as rocks and dangerous rips present significant hazards. The most consistent clean waves typically occur during the winter, particularly in March.
