📍 Local Knowledge

Ecalgrain in Normandy is a sheltered beach and reef break with unreliable surf, particularly during the summer months when it frequently remains flat. It performs best with a west swell and offshore winds from the east, receiving a mix of groundswells and windswells. The spot provides both left and right-handers across the beach and is notably versatile, as it is surfable at all stages of the tide. Because it very rarely gets crowded, it is an excellent choice for a quiet session. The most consistent clean waves typically occur during the spring, particularly in April.
