📍 Local Knowledge

Anatori River is an exposed beach and point break that usually has waves and can work at any time of the year. The best conditions occur when a West-southwest groundswell combines with an offshore wind direction from the Southeast, though the spot has no shelter from cross-shore breezes and is easily blown out by onshore winds. The break features left-hand beach peels and a left-hand point break, both of which are best around low tide. It is an uncrowded break even when working, but surfers should watch out for dangerous rips. The best time of year for consistent, clean waves is during the autumn, particularly the month of March.
