Offshore northwest to west winds groom the waves into clean, workable peaks, producing a mix of rights and lefts over shifting sandbars. It can handle a range of swell sizes, though larger swells may bring stronger currents and heavier shorebreak. The spot works on most tides, with mid tide often delivering the best combination of shape and power. Crowds are typically moderate, with plenty of room to spread out along the shoreline. The best surf is usually from August through October.
