Offshore west to northwest winds clean up south to southeast swells, producing a mix of lefts and rights over well-formed sandbars. The spot works through a range of tides, though mid tide often offers the best balance between shape and speed. Crowds can be moderate on good days, but the lineup generally has a laid-back vibe. Hazards include strong rip currents and occasional shorebreak. The best surf is usually from August through October.
