📍 Local Knowledge

Ventnor Pier, NJ, is an exposed beach/jetty break with consistent surf year-round. It receives a mix of groundswells and windswells, with the best swell direction from the northeast and offshore winds from the northwest. The break offers both left and right-hand waves and works well at all tide stages. Prime conditions occur in winter, especially in March, when clean, rideable waves are most frequent. The spot is often crowded, and surfers should be cautious of rips, rocks, buoys, and localism.
