It works best with a southeast swell and offshore northwest winds, with the best conditions typically occurring in summer and November. The break offers both lefts and rights, performing best around low tide. Groundswells and windswells are equally common. While some shelter exists from south winds, strong rip currents can be hazardous. The spot is often crowded.
