Morningside in New Jersey is an exposed beach break with reliable surf that comes to life during summer and fall swells. Offshore winds from the west clean up incoming southeast and east swells, producing fun peaks with both lefts and rights breaking over shifting sandbars. The spot works across a variety of tide stages, though mid to incoming tide often provides the best shape. While not as heavily crowded as some nearby beaches, weekends can draw more locals and visiting surfers. Strong rip currents and occasional heavy shorebreak should be approached with caution. The most consistent clean waves usually occur in September.
