📍 Local Knowledge

Island Beach State Park in New Jersey is an exposed beach break with consistent surf year-round. It works best with a southeast swell and offshore winds from the west, producing mainly right-hand waves. The optimal tide is low, and both groundswells and windswells are common. Summer, particularly July, offers the most consistent clean waves. The spot is generally uncrowded but watch out for rips and jellyfish.
