📍 Local Knowledge

Boardwalk in New Jersey is an exposed beach break that works on a mix of groundswells and windswells, with the best conditions on east to southeast swells and offshore winds from the northwest. The shifting sandbars create both peaky, playful waves and occasional hollow sections, with autumn’s hurricane season delivering the most consistent clean surf. It can be surfed at all tides, though mid to incoming tide generally offers better shape. This spot can get busy during prime swells due to its easy access, and hazards include rip currents, shifting sandbars, and shorebreak on bigger days.
