πŸ“ Local Knowledge

Bay Head, NJ, is an exposed beach/jetty break with fairly consistent surf year-round. It works best with a southeast swell and offshore winds from the west, with mid-tide on a rising tide being ideal. The break favors rights and receives both windswell and groundswell. Summer, especially July, offers the most consistent clean waves. Crowds can be an issue when it’s working, and surfers should be cautious of strong rips.
