📍 Local Knowledge
Barnegat Light in New Jersey is an exposed beach and jetty break that offers a mix of peaky beach break waves and longer rides along the jetty during solid swells. Offshore winds from the west pair well with swells from the southeast to northeast, producing clean, rippable rights off the jetty and wedgy peaks along the beach. The spot works across all tide stages, though mid tide often offers the best shape and power. Crowds are usually light due to its more remote location, but conditions can get challenging with strong currents near the inlet. The most consistent clean waves usually occur in September.
