It works best on east to northeast swells with offshore winds from the west or northwest, and mid to high tide tends to offer the best shape and rideability. The waves can vary from long, peeling shoulders to fast, hollow sections depending on swell size and period, making it a favorite for experienced surfers while still offering manageable days for intermediates. Strong rips and currents are common during larger swells, so caution is advised.
