Long Point on Martha’s Vineyard is a semi-exposed beach break that comes alive during the fall hurricane season and strong winter storms, with September through November bringing the most reliable surf. It works best on south to southeast swells with offshore winds from the north to northwest, and a rising mid tide often produces cleaner, more shapely waves. Surf here ranges from mellow, rolling peaks to more powerful, pitching sections during bigger swells, appealing to a mix of longboarders and shortboarders. Its somewhat remote setting helps keep crowds light, though conditions can shift quickly due to changing winds and tides.
