📍 Local Knowledge

Chandy’s on Martha’s Vineyard is a semi-exposed beach break that sees its best surf during the fall hurricane season and winter nor’easters, with September through November bringing the most consistent clean swells. It works best on south to southwest swells with offshore winds from the north to northeast, and a rising mid tide often provides optimal shape. Waves here can range from playful peaks to faster, steeper sections during larger swells, catering to both longboarders and shortboarders. Its lesser-known status keeps crowds minimal, though shifting sandbars and variable currents can affect wave quality.
