📍 Local Knowledge
Midtown in Ocean City, Maryland is an exposed beach break that responds well to south and southeast swells, particularly active during the late summer and early fall hurricane season. Offshore winds from the west help clean up incoming surf, producing peaky lefts and rights across shifting sandbars. Surf here is rideable through most tide stages, though mid tide typically delivers the best combination of shape and rideability. This stretch spans roughly from 28th to 90th Streets and, while busy during peak season, often offers softer crowds compared to the Boardwalk corridor. Surfers should remain cautious of rip currents and the ever-changing sandbar landscape. The most consistent clean waves often come in September.
