📍 Local Knowledge
Safi Garden (Le Jardin) in Central Morocco is an exposed point break that offers its most consistent surfing opportunities during the autumn and winter months, while the summer in particular tends to be flat. It performs best when a strong west-northwest swell combines with offshore winds from the north. The waves arrive as a mix of both local windswells and distant groundswells, producing a long peak along the rocky point that can become quite punchy and hollow when a solid swell is running. The surf is notably versatile and remains rideable at all stages of the tide, though it often provides the cleanest faces on a rising mid-tide. While it is a reliable spot along this stretch of coast, it is rarely crowded, even when the surf is up. Surfers should exercise caution and stay alert for hazards such as strong lateral currents, dangerous rips, and rocks in the lineup. The best conditions reported for surf at Safi Garden (Le Jardin) occur when a West-northwest swell combines with an offshore wind direction from the North.
