Racelafaa in Central Morocco is an exposed beach and reef break that offers its most consistent surfing opportunities during the autumn and winter months, while the summer tends to be mostly flat. It performs best when a strong northwest swell combines with offshore winds from the east. Most of the waves arrive in the form of clean Atlantic groundswells, producing a right-breaking reef setup that can become quite punchy and hollow when a solid swell is running. The surf is notably versatile and remains rideable at all stages of the tide, though it often provides the cleanest faces on a rising mid-tide. While it is a reliable spot along this stretch of coast, it is unlikely to be too crowded, even when the surf is up. Surfers should exercise caution and stay alert for hazards such as strong lateral currents, dangerous rips, submerged rocks, and sea urchins. The best conditions reported for surf at Racelafaa occur when a Northwest swell combines with an offshore wind direction from the East.
