πŸ“ Local Knowledge

Ward Beach is a reasonably exposed beach break that has pretty consistent surf, although summer tends to be mostly flat. The best conditions occur when a Southeast swell, consisting of windswells and groundswells in equal measure, combines with an offshore wind direction from the Northwest. The beach break offers both left and right hand waves and performs best around low tide. It is rarely crowded here, though surfers should be cautious as dangerous rips are a hazard of surfing this location. The best time of year for consistent, clean waves is during the winter, particularly the month of June.
