📍 Local Knowledge

Gran Pacifica is an exposed beach and reef break in Nicaragua that offers a mix of mellow and heavy surf. It works best with offshore winds from the east and groundswells from the south to southwest. The most favorable conditions occur when a solid southwest or south swell combines with clean offshore winds. The spot offers both left and right-hand reef and beach breaks, with minimal crowds even on good days. Surfers should be mindful of reef sections, strong currents, and shifting sandbars. The best time for consistent, clean waves is during the Pacific swell season, especially from May through September.
