📍 Local Knowledge

Shack’s / Shifty’s is an exposed reef/point break that offers shifty and powerful waves. It works best with offshore winds from the east to northeast and groundswells from the south to southwest. The most favorable conditions occur when a solid southwest swell aligns with clean offshore winds. The break provides both left and right-hand waves, and although it can attract attention during good surf, it generally remains less crowded than many mainstream spots. Surfers should exercise caution regarding rips, reef sections, and uneven takes. The best time for consistent, clean waves is during the Pacific swell season, particularly from May to September.
