Current Conditions

POOR
Poor conditions right now. Tiny waves under 1ft with quality 10s ground swell but strong 17kt winds making it choppy Note: winds from NE would be better. Might want to wait for better conditions.

📍 Local Knowledge

Puerto Sandino in Leon Province is an exposed reef and point break with quite reliable surf, working best with northeast offshore winds and southwest groundswells. It produces both left and right reef breaks, and even when there are waves, it is not likely to be crowded. The best conditions occur when a southwest swell combines with an offshore wind from the northeast. The most consistent clean waves are during winter, with December offering the best surf. Rips and rocks are hazards to watch out for.
