📍 Local Knowledge
Rock Point/Pohakuloa in Molokai is an exposed reef and point break with inconsistent surf, but it can deliver solid waves under the right conditions. The spot works best in winter, particularly when a northeast swell meets offshore winds from the north-northwest. The reef offers both left and right breaks, with the lefts generally favored for their quality. Despite its inconsistency, Rock Point can attract crowds when it’s firing. Surfers should stay alert for typical hazards, including sharp rocks, rips, urchins, and sharks. November is usually the most reliable month for clean, surfable waves here.
