📍 Local Knowledge
Point North in Maui is an exposed reef and point break with dependable surf. Winter is the best time of year for surfing here. When it's working, conditions are best when a north-northeast swell pairs with offshore winds from the south-southwest, producing a clean left-hand reef break. When the surf is up, it can get quite busy in the water. Hazards include urchins and rips, so use caution. While it's a dependable location, the month of December tends to offer the best chance for consistent, clean waves.
