📍 Local Knowledge
Palemano Point on the Big Island is an exposed left-hand reef break with reliable surf that can work throughout the year. It performs best when clean southwest groundswells combine with offshore winds from the east, producing quality waves across all tide stages. While it's not the most remote spot, it can get crowded when conditions line up. Hazards include sharp reef, urchins, strong rips, and occasional localism. For the best shot at clean, rideable waves, aim for the summer season—especially July, when consistent swell and favorable winds align most often.
