📍 Local Knowledge

Makapu'u in Oahu is an exposed beach break with fairly consistent surf year-round. It works best when an East-southeast swell combines with West-southwest offshore winds, producing both left and right-hand waves. The break receives a mix of wind and groundswells equally. The spot can sometimes be crowded, and surfers should watch out for rocks and crowds. The best conditions are typically found during Spring, especially in March.
