πŸ“ Local Knowledge

Lymans on the Big Island is a fairly exposed reef and point break that offers reasonably consistent surf, especially during the winter season. This left-hand point break works best when clean groundswells roll in from the west-northwest and offshore winds blow from the east. The wave is known for its long, peeling rides, making it a favorite among localsβ€”though that also means it can get crowded when conditions line up. Hazards include urchins and submerged rocks, so caution is advised. January is typically the best month for clean, rideable waves with ideal wind and swell combinations.
