La Perouse Bay/The Dumps in Maui is a reasonably exposed reef break that only works once in a while. Summer is the best time of year to catch waves here. When it does break, conditions are best when a south swell pairs with offshore winds from the north-northeast, producing a clean left-hand reef break. This spot is sometimes crowded when it's working. Hazards include rocks, so use caution. While not the most dependable location, the month of June tends to offer the best chance for consistent, clean waves.
