📍 Local Knowledge

Kihei Cove in Maui is a fairly exposed reef break with very consistent waves. Summer is the best time of year for surfing here. When it's working, conditions are best when a west-southwest swell pairs with offshore winds from the northeast. This spot is surfable at all stages of the tide, but crowds are likely when the surf is up. Hazards include urchins and rocks, so use caution. While it's a dependable location, the month of June tends to offer the best chance for consistent, clean waves.
