Kewalos in Oahu is an exposed reef break with reliable surf, best during summer, particularly May. It performs optimally with a south-southeast swell and north offshore winds, receiving a mix of groundswells and windswells. The break offers both left and right reef waves and provides good surf at all tide stages. When the surf is up, the spot can be crowded. Surfers should watch out for man-made hazards such as buoys, as well as sharks.
