πŸ“ Local Knowledge

Kapukahehu, also known as Dixies, in Molokai is an exposed reef break that offers fairly consistent surf, particularly during the summer months. The break performs best when a southwest swell aligns with offshore winds from the east-southeast, producing clean, left-breaking waves over the reef. Though the spot can get crowded when it’s firing, it remains a favorite among locals for its reliable swell window and rideable conditions. Surfers should be aware of hazards such as sharp rocks, coral, a submerged wreck, and sharks. June is typically the optimal month for scoring clean, quality waves at Kapukahehu/Dixies.
