📍 Local Knowledge

Kamakaʻipo, also known as Egusa's, in Molokai is an exposed reef and point break offering reasonably consistent surf, especially during the winter months. This spot works best when a west-northwest swell meets offshore winds from the east-southeast, delivering clean, right-breaking waves over a reef setup. Despite its quality, Kamakaʻipo remains relatively uncrowded, making it a quiet option even on good days. Surfers should stay alert for common hazards like sharp coral, submerged rocks, strong rips, and occasional shark sightings. January is typically the best month to catch clean, consistent waves at this secluded break.
