The break performs best when a west-northwest swell aligns with offshore winds from the east, generating both left and right-handers. While the spot can get crowded at times, it remains manageable. Hazards include urchins, rips, rocks, and localism. January is typically the standout month for catching clean, rideable waves at Honokohau Harbour.
