📍 Local Knowledge

Browns in Big Island is a reasonably exposed reef break that enjoys consistent winter surf and quality wave options. The spot works best when a west-northwest swell pairs with offshore winds from the east-southeast, generating clean, surfable peaks. With both left and right reef breaks on offer, Browns can provide variety for different styles of riders. While it can draw a crowd when conditions align, it remains a dependable location through the season. January is typically the prime month for scoring the cleanest waves at this spot.
