Avalanche on Oahu is an exposed left-hand reef break known for its dependable surf during the winter months, with November offering the most consistent clean waves. It works best when northwest groundswells combine with offshore winds from the east-southeast. While summer tends to be flat, groundswells are more frequent than windswells throughout the year. The spot is rarely crowded, but surfers should be cautious of rips, sharks, and rocks.
