📍 Local Knowledge

Tybee Island Pier in Georgia is an exposed beach break that works best with offshore winds from the west-northwest and a swell direction from the east. It receives a mix of groundswells and windswells and offers fairly reliable surf, especially in winter, with December being the most consistent month. The wave is fairly popular and can sometimes get crowded. Surfers should be cautious of rocks and sharks. Optimal conditions occur when an east swell combines with west-northwest winds.
