📍 Local Knowledge

Jeckyll Island in Georgia is an exposed beach break that performs best with offshore winds from the northwest and a swell direction from the east, receiving a mix of groundswells and windswells. The break offers both left and right-hand waves and is best surfed around high tide when the tide is rising. Even when conditions are good, the spot is rarely crowded. Surfers should be cautious of rips, sharks, and jellyfish. Optimal conditions occur when an east swell combines with northwest winds, with the most consistent clean waves typically found in winter, especially in November.
