πŸ“ Local Knowledge

Cabretta Island, a serene sandspit off Sapelo Island, offers a remote beach-break accessible only by boat or kayak. It performs best in late summer, early fall, and early spring, when east to southeast swells align with offshore winds to sculpt accessible peaks over its shifting sandbars. The beachbreak works well at high tide, while the sandspit point tends to fire better on low to mid tide, delivering both lefts and rights across a range of swell sizes (3 ft to 6 ft). This spot suits surfers of all levels and remains largely uncrowdedβ€”just be mindful of strong currents and the demands of its rugged access method.
