📍 Local Knowledge

17th Street Boardwalk in Georgia is an exposed beach and pier break with reasonably consistent surf that can work year-round. It performs best with offshore winds from the west and a swell direction from the east, receiving a mix of groundswells and windswells. The break offers both left and right-hand waves and is best surfed around mid tide. It is rarely crowded, even when conditions are good, but surfers should be cautious of rips, rocks, locals, and sharks. The best surf occurs when an east swell combines with west winds, with the most consistent clean waves typically found in summer, especially in July.
