Playa do Rostro in Galicia is a powerful, exposed beach break that is widely considered a "swell magnet," usually providing rideable waves even when other spots are flat. This 2-kilometer stretch of wild coastline offers multiple peaks with both left and right-handers; however, because it faces the open Atlantic, it can get very heavy and is prone to strong currents. The best conditions occur with a West swell and an East offshore wind, with Autumn—specifically October—offering the most consistent balance of clean swell and favorable weather.
