📍 Local Knowledge

Playa de Sarrigal in Galicia is an exposed beach break that has fairly consistent surf, though it tends to go flat during the summer months. This remote and rugged spot provides both left and right-hand waves driven primarily by distant groundswells; while it performs best around a falling low tide and remains relatively uncrowded even on good days, surfers must be extremely cautious of the dangerous rip currents. The best conditions reported for surf at Playa de Sarrigal occur when a Northwest swell combines with an offshore wind direction from the Southeast, and the best time of year for surfing with consistent clean waves is the month of October.
