Playa de Madorra in Galicia is a quite exposed beach break that does not work very often, with winter being the optimum time of year for a visit. The beach provides both left and right-handers from an equal mix of local windswells and distant groundswells, offering some shelter from south winds; fortunately, it is rarely crowded here. The best conditions reported for surf at Playa de Madorra occur when a Northwest swell combines with an offshore wind direction from the Southeast, and the best time of year for surfing with consistent clean waves (rideable swell with light / offshore winds) is the month of December.
