📍 Local Knowledge

Playa de Lanzada in Galicia is an exposed beach and reef break with reasonably consistent surf that can work at any time of the year. The spot offers both left and right-hand waves at the beach, along with a dedicated left-hand reef break; uniquely, the quality of the surf here remains relatively unaffected by the tide, and it is rarely crowded even on good days. The best conditions reported for surf at Playa de Lanzada occur when a Southwest swell combines with an offshore wind direction from the Northeast, and the best time of year for surfing with consistent clean waves (rideable swell with light / offshore winds) is the month of February.
