📍 Local Knowledge

Playa de Carnota in Galicia is a fairly exposed beach break with pretty consistent surf, though it tends to stay flat during the summer months. This massive 7-kilometer crescent beach provides both left and right-handers that work well at all stages of the tide, making it a reliable and versatile choice for surfers looking to avoid the crowds. The best conditions occur when a Northwest swell meets a Northeast offshore wind, and unlike many other spots in the region, Spring—specifically March—is often cited as the peak time for clean, rideable waves here.
