Best surf occurs when southeast swells meet offshore winds from the north, producing a clean left-hand wave that peels along the point. Swell sources are usually local windswells rather than distant groundswells. It handles all tide stages well and rarely sees crowds, offering a peaceful session when it’s on. Surfers should watch out for rips, sharks, and jellyfish. Winter provides the best chance for clean, rideable waves—especially in January.
