The Mayport Poles in North Florida is an exposed beach break known for its pretty consistent surf that can work year-round. It performs best with offshore winds from the west and thrives on a swell direction from the east. Both windswells and groundswells contribute to its wave activity. While it can get a bit crowded at times, the waves are generally reliable and appealing to a wide range of surfers. Hazards to watch out for include strong rips, pollution, and occasional shark sightings. The prime time for clean, rideable waves here is during the summer, especially in July.
