The Cove in South Florida is a fairly exposed beach and reef break with quite reliable surf. The best conditions occur during winter, when offshore winds from the west combine with north-northeast groundswells to create ideal waves. The break mainly offers left-hand beach waves. When the surf is up, it can get quite busy in the water. Surfers should watch out for sharks and rocks. The most consistent clean surf is typically found in winter, with January being the prime month.
